frequently asked questions

The primary goal of care at Laux Chiropractic is to reduce or eliminate the unhealthy effects of vertebral subluxation (abnormal spinal structure/abnormal posture) on the human body.

By correcting vertebral subluxation (abnormal spinal structure/abnormal posture) to as near normal as possible, the stress and strain upon the spinal cord, nerves, discs, ligaments and muscles is reduced and the body has an opportunity to heal.

Question: How is your approach different from that of other chiropractors?

Answer: Our office utilizes the protocols of Chiropractic BioPhysics® (CBP®) Technique. I am currently one of only 9 Certified CBP® Practitioners in the State of Ohio.

CBP® is the most researched and scientifically documented treatment method available in chiropractic healthcare.

Utilizing CBP’s revolutionary treatment protocols, we have helped many patients improve or correct their subluxation(s) to as near normal as possible. For examples of subluxation correction, click here…Before and After Page.

Question: What types of conditions do chiropractors treat?

Answer: The most common types of problems we see are: neck pain, tension headaches, migraine headaches, fibromyalgia, lower back pain and disc problems as well as whiplash/auto accident injuries.

Due to chiropractic care’s focus on the nervous system and the autonomic nervous system’s role in health, a wide variety of other health problems may respond to chiropractic care.

Question: Why should I care if I have subluxation?

Subluxation (abnormal spinal structure/abnormal posture) has two main negative effects:

1. Subluxation causes abnormal stress/strain to be placed on the discs, ligaments, muscles and tendons. This abnormal stress/strain on the joints and soft tissues is a root cause of muscluloskeletal pain (back pain, neck pain, disc problems, etc.) as well as spinal disc degeneration and arthritis.

2. Subluxation produces abnormal stress/strain on the spinal cord and spinal nerves, which can cause interference to the normal function of the nervous system.

Normal nervous system function is absolutely essential for optimal health and healing.

Question: Why do some people go to the chiropractor over and over again? I have heard that once you go, you have to go forever?

Answer: If a patient just wants to focus on symptom relief and then be done with care, they may certainly choose this option , called Relief Care.

If a patient chooses Relief Care and does not correct their subluxation(s) to as near normal as possible, the patient will most likely suffer multiple relapses. This is because the problem, subluxation, has not been corrected.

Most of my patients choose to try to correct their subluxation(s) to as near normal as possible so we develop a care plan designed to do that called Corrective Care.

Once their spine is rehabilitated to as near normal as possible, many patients choose to continue supporting their health with regular spinal adjustments and home exercises.

Question: How long does it take to correct subluxation?

Answer: The length of time needed to correct subluxation varies depending on:

  • How many subluxations you have.

  • The severity of your subluxation(s)

  • How long the subluxation(s) have been present.

  • How much spinal degeneration is present.

  • Your age

  • Your level of health

  • How consistent you are with your treatment plan and home care regimen.
